How Onyx Soap Is Made
Every bar of Onyx soap is made by hand in small batches in Islamabad. We keep the process slow and simple on purpose, because that is what makes a gentle bar.
1. Choosing the ingredients
We start with natural oils and botanicals, and we leave out SLS and parabens. Everything that goes into a bar is listed on its label, so you always know what you are putting on your skin.
2. Cold process mixing
Our soap is cold processed. Instead of cooking the mixture at high heat, we blend the oils at a low temperature and let the natural chemistry of soap making do the work. This keeps more of the oils’ natural goodness in the finished bar.
3. Pouring and shaping
Each batch is poured into moulds, from our classic bars to the little pineapple shaped travel soap, then left to set before it is cut and trimmed by hand.
4. Four weeks of curing
This is the step most mass made soap skips. Every Onyx bar rests on a curing rack for a full four weeks. Over that time the water evaporates and the bar becomes harder, milder and longer lasting.
5. Packed and sent to you
Once cured, the bars are checked, labelled and packed, then delivered to customers across Pakistan.
